Preventing Autism: Cheap, Simple and EFFECTIVE

There is a simple, cheap, and effective form of Autism Prevention therapy. Here it is:

Less than 1% of all doctors in the USA are even aware that vitamin C takes all minerals, including heavy metals out of the body. It's not true chelation, as vitamin C combines metabolically, but it's the same result. Take out all, and put back in what is needed. Most doctors even believe that the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of 75 mg is correct for good health, when 4000 mg is the RDA for a 150 pound ape. (Apes are more valuable it seems.)

Mineral analysis of people who use 2000-5000 mg (2-5 grams) per day of vitamin C for a year or so show heavy metals toxicity so low it is immeasurable. We have an epidemic of autism, mostly caused by mercury, aluminum, and/or lead toxicity. This toxicity is increasing in our culture and pregnant women are more and more subject to this environmental poisoning. This is creating infant toxicity before birth such that the infant liver may be near toxic levels, and the addition of vaccines using these preservatives overloads the infant liver and actually kills brain cells. A simple and cheap prevention is to have any pregnant woman start on 4 grams per day of cheap vitamin C (less than $30 for 9 months supply at Costco). If she takes 2 1000 mg tablets at breakfast and 2 more at dinner, and then takes pre-natal vitamins and vitamins at lunch, the "shared" blood stream of mother and fetus will be gradually cleared of mercury and other heavy metals.

This allows the birth of a baby that is not near toxic levels in that tiny liver, and now is able to handle further toxic loads after entering the world. Autism is a "bankruptcy" disease to families. Instead of spending millions on "cure", let's spend a small amount on prevention. But doctors need to be re-educated about vitamin C. Big Pharma has done a job with their refutation of Linus Pauling, and the other scientists work below.

These include Frederick R. Klenner. http://www.doctoryourself.com/vitaminc2.html by Andrew Saulas, the only psychologist in the Orthomolecular Medical Society for many years and a personal friend of Abram Hoffer and Carl Pfeiffer. Dr. Bate has personally taken 4 grams per day of vitamin C (as above), for a number of years, my recent mineral analysis shows the only heavy metals even measurable are aluminum and arsenic, and both are extremely low on the toxic level. (His wife cooks with aluminum, and we get fresh vegetables from possibly insecticide sprayed fields.)

He has also used vitamin C in my former practice to solve many cases of schizophrenia caused by excessive copper using 10 grams per day of vitamin C very successfully. These cases included both the Wilson's family gene, and some women that the birth control pill had been involved in the copper uptake. He has also successfully used vitamin C to push out mercury in cases of depression. This simple and cheap therapy has the potential to stop the current epidemic of autism, and at least bring it back to the 1 case in 10,000, instead of the current 1 in less than 150. Also, simple to test the validity. Find 100-1000 recently pregnant women, and start this regimen. If less than 6 months left in pregnancy, go to 3 grams per dose, etc.

Treatment of Autism - The Important Roles of Vitamins and Minerals in Effectively Treating Autism

Autism is a disorder that affects the individual's communicative and language ability. This disease often affects children before their third birthdays. The exact cause of the disorder is yet to be proven by medical science.

Autism makes the autistic patient to speak incoherently and continuously display behaviors that are inimical to common behavior. Thus, autism symptoms are related to those of other Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD). It will interest you to know that in autism treatment centers, this disease is also known as autism spectrum disorder.

Autism cure is still eluding researches that have been carried out for many years. However, autism is treatable because some of the risk factors have been identified. Among other risk factors, it has been diagnosed that the autistic lacks certain vitamins and minerals in their body. To be specific, there has been low level of minerals like magnesium, calcium, chromium and folic acid in the blood of children with autism. Also, vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin B, etc are seen to be lacking in the blood of those who are diagnosed with the disorder.

To handle this situation, autism research papers presented in the past have revealed that children and adults with autism have shown significant improvement when supplements of vitamins and minerals are used in treating them. Yes, when the children were treated with thylglycine and niacin supplements.

In some autism treatment options, oral secretin is administered to the patient with a combination of vitamins and minerals are very effective in treating and controlling autism. They can be termed as Autism Spectrum Disorder/Cures used these days.

Is Autism Treatment Possible?

Autism is a brain disorder that usually is noticed within the first three years of life. United States statistics indicate that one in 166 children are suffering from it. This condition that makes it difficult for the person to communicate with others can be a mild or severe form of Autism and there is no cure. The only thing that will help them is Autism treatment in the form of cognitive behavioral therapies. Research continues to find ways to assist these individuals as well as their caregivers.

Applied Behavior Analysis has been used successfully as an integrated system of treatment o autistic children. As an equal partnership between teachers and parents or caregivers, the program has a structured model that forms the basis of specific educative methods. The children have one-to-one interaction with teachers, while the safe environs ensure that the child is able to do as per their ability, without being made to feel out of place.

Each person with Autism has their own symptoms and treatments that work for them. Sometimes they go through a variety of Autism treatments to find what works best for them. It is considered that if a child is diagnosed quickly with Autism they have a good chance of coping with their condition. This is especially true for those with a mild form of the disorder.

Multivitamin and Mineral Nutrient Supplement
This is a treatment that has shown a great deal of improvement for those that take them. Doctors incorporate multivitamin and/or mineral nutrient supplement into the child's daily diet. The diet is also designed in a way to help as an Autism Treatment. Changes noticed are improved neurological development and doing better on tests. This would mean improvements in learning as well as behavioral improvements. Included in these treatments are: Magnesium, Vitamin B6, Niacin, Dimethylglycine and Vitamin C. Diet with low carbohydrates and sugar has been known to benefit the children.

Medicines
There really aren't any medicines that are known especially for Autism treatment. Nevertheless, some medications are used to help improve Autism symptoms. Some Autistics feel better when using certain medications such as stimulants, anti-psychotics and anti-anxiety options including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder medications. However, it is best to consult the doctor treating the child and only use prescription medicines.

Alternative Therapies
There are several treatments that are innovative as well as alternative therapies introduced and used over the years. An example is stem cell therapy that used a person's bone marrow cells or even animal cells. Other elements used are Lyophilisate. Another therapy is using oral Secretin along with vitamins to help with social issues.

Parents are always searching for the Autism treatment that will help their child. Professional doctors that are caring for the child recommend unusual treatments be tested before using them on a child. The search for assistance continues to be sought and not every child or person that is Autistic has the same treatment that works. Finding the right treatment often takes trial and error for the doctors, parents and patient.

Can Autism Diets Help Recover a Child From Autism?

With autism among children rising to astounding rates of 1 in 150 children worldwide, it is the fastest growing childhood epidemic of our time. The number of children affected by this whole-body disorder is expected to rise even further over the next decade. According to research reports, more children will be diagnosed with autism this year than cancer, diabetes, Downs Syndrome and AIDS combined. Approximately 1 million individuals in the United States have autism---as of today, there is no known cause and no known cure.

You know the statistics. You are keenly aware of how interesting your path has become-a life you didn't exactly imagine you would be in. You see the autism awareness ad campaigns on television. You hear a new president dedicate himself to helping children with autism through research dollars and insurance coverage requirements. You are connected to your local autism support group. You participate in lively debate over genetics, vaccines, ABA therapy and a new topic-biomedical intervention and autism diets.

You may be watching your child carefully stack cans on top of one another---over and over for hours, instead of playing with toys and other children. You serve French fries day after day, because they might be the only thing your child will eat. You've decided that "hope for recovery from autism" is an interesting collection of words-but do they really fit into your world?

You hear the word "recovery" more and more lately. How can your child recover from autism? Is it really possible? Parents you know are coming back from conferences enlightened and hopeful. The terms "biomedical intervention" and "autism diet" are rising to the top of conversations, literature and web sites. Of course you would be curious.

Pursuing recovery is not about "curing" autism. Pursuing recovery is about believing in and taking action toward improved health and healing. The term "recovery" is best explained by esteemed autism organizations such as Autism Research Institute and Generation Rescue, the use of this term is intended to convey the extent of the possibility that exists for these children--to reach their potential of health and happiness - whatever that may be. As Jenny McCarthy analogy explains, while you can't be cured of getting hit by a bus, you can recover. Indeed, thousands of children have, and are, recovering from autism.

Many parents today are learning things they can do to help their children thrive and pursue recovery. Autism pediatricians, researchers and nutritionists are now suggesting that parents consider implementing autism diets, autism-specific nutrition and specialized supplementation, in addition to traditional behavioral therapy and other proven treatments.

Doctors now know that the body of the child with autism is quite unique and requires very specific care-special enzymes for digestion, medical treatment for yeast infections and other conditions found during testing, attention to digestive issues, special dietary requirements (autism diets), nutrient and fatty acid supplementation, behavioral therapy and more.

Specific autism diets can help children improve in many ways. When diets are correctly implemented by parents, improvement in gastrointestinal problems, diarrhea, constipation, language, learning, focus, attention, eye contact, behavior, sleep difficulties, toilet training, skin rashes/eczema and body pain have been observed. Since every child is unique, improvements will vary.

There are several diets that are used by parents, autism nutritionists and pediatricians. These diets include the Gluten-Free Casein-Free (GFCF) Diet, Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Diet, Low Oxalate Diet, Body Ecology Diet, Feingold Diet and Weston A. Price dietary principles. Most practitioners suggest parents begin with the GFCF Diet-removing all gluten and casein from the foods they serve their children.

Autism Research Institute (ARI) surveyed thousands of parents and found that 65% of those applying the GFCF Diet saw improvement. For the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, 66% noted improvement.

Successful parents begin with simple steps: they serve fresh fruits, vegetables and grass-fed meats whenever possible. They read labels for ingredients and they clean out their cupboards. They shop for organic foods in order to remove antibiotics, hormones, pesticides and PCBs from the dinner table. Parents choose to no longer serve their children easy-to-serve pre-packaged, canned or frozen foods that contain preservative, additives, colors and artificial ingredients. They immediately decrease the amount of sugar they feed their children. The guidance of a qualified nutrition profession is always recommended.

After the initial clean up steps are completed, parents embark on the finer points of an autism diet, which often means removing gluten and casein-as implemented in the GFCF diet. Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye, barley, commercial oats, kamut, and spelt. Casein is the protein found in dairy. The GFCF diet has become popular for autism and the general population, and there are many GFCF foods available in stores. Parents who are successful with applying a GFCF diet cook from great recipes they find online and in autism diet friendly cookbooks. They actually enjoy the process.

For the parent of a child with autism, the food that they choose to serve their children is vitally important to their healing. Autism diets are an important first step all parents should consider as they are creating a recovery program for their child.

Julie Matthews, a top US biomedical autism diet/nutrition specialist and Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) Practitioner, helps parents recover children from autism. She is a parent/physician educator and creator of "Nourishing Hope for Autism: Nutrition Intervention for Healing Our Children" (Book) and "Cooking to Heal Autism Nutrition and Cooking Classes" (DVD). Reverse Autism

Typically, pediatricians do not know much about autism due to the lack of medical journals on the subject. My suggestion is to find a D.A.N. doctor or a developmental pediatrician. If this is not possible, it's best to do a lot of research and consult with your pediatrician before starting any supplements. The dosage of these supplements can be very high. The last thing you want is further damage being done.

Like many of you, I'm dedicated to reversing my son's autism. Here are my suggestions.

The Biomedical Treatment
There are a few ways parents are reversing autism in their kids. One is D.A.N.'s biomedical treatment. This stands for defeat autism now. Dr.Bernard Rimland has been an awesome resource for autistic children. He is the founder of the Autism Research Institute and helped create Defeat Autism Now. DAN is a great resource for the biomedical treatment. This treatment involves getting tests, adding supplements, and enzymes among others. Below is the short version.

1. Improve diet. More veggies, whole fruit and protein. No junk food! Limit sugars and starches.
2. Minimum of three months on GFCF diet. No bread or milk products.
3. Add digestive enzymes, vitamins and minerals.
4. Test thyroid function and iodine levels.
5. Comprehensive digestive stool analysis and urinary organic acids. Use both tests for intestinal yeast or bacteria. If needed, treat with antifungals, probiotics, and maybe antibiotics. And try specific carbohydrate diet to starve the yeast and/or bacteria.
6. Test for amino acids and if needed, add.
7. Test plasma sulfate and glutathione. If low, supplement.
8. Use chelation challenge to find heavy metal toxicity. If levels are high, treat.
9. Try additional nutrients. Essential fatty acids, DMG/TMG, Methyl-B12
10.Mega B6 with Magnesium (8 mgper lb. of bodyweight and 4 mg. per lb. for magnesium) This is especially important if Kryptopyrole levels test high.
11. Test and treat any viral infections.
12. ABA and RDI therapy is very important.

These steps should be followed in order. Your regular pediatrician should be helpful in referrals for these tests. Please encourage your doctor to go to a DAN conference! They will not only see what you're battling, but they can register with DAN, and get a better understanding of all these tests you're requesting. There's no doubt their office will see more traffic.

Happy & Healthy Kids
A great site is AutismRecoveryVideos.org. You can watch videos of children who have recovered from autism. Don't forget the tissues, because if you're a parent with an autistic child, YOU WILL CRY! These parents have all used the biomedical treatment.

GFCF Diet
This diet is not only going to help your child. It's very healthy, and I promise that your entire family will feel better. GFCF means gluten and casein free. This means no bread, milk, or any additives or preservatives. Once you get the hang of the diet, it comes quite naturally. When you begin the GFCF diet, keep a journal of dates that removed certain foods. Be sure to space removals out, because some children have bad reactions to food being removed from their diet. Parents have seen a wide range of benefits from the diet. Some children have started talking, most were more calm and focused. A big bonus is the decrease, regularity, and consistency of bowel movements. For more information on the GFCF diet, see squidoo.com/GFCF.

Therapy
There are many types of therapy parents use to treat their childs autism. Speech, Occupational,Physical, ABA, RDI,and Massage are among the popular.

Here are my opinions. These are not based on fact, or statistics, just my personal experience. You have to find what works for your child. I've never been a big fan of speech therapy for my son. My daughter was in ST at one time and it really helped her a lot...but she speaks. My son has never spoken due to autism. In my opinion, ST is great when there's already speech. Hopefully, I'll be able to take him after his recovery. Occupational really helps a child in getting familiar with the therapy setting and can be useful. My son was a lot more vocal when in OT because he likes a lot of activity. So, we combined OT with ST to encourage speech. I cannot say enough about ABA therapy. I've seen a lot of progress with kids taking this therapy. My son is in ABA, and I believe in it whole-heartedly. RDI is very intense therapy. This is something to begin if ABA isn't making any improvements in your child. Massage therapy is proving very useful among many autistic children. Relaxation, focus, and improvements in behavior are some of the many benefits.

I would probably try these in order, with the exception of massage therapy. If I could go back, my son would be getting this all along. For more info. on ABA, see [http://www.squidoo.com/abatherapy].

Bottom Line
The bottom line is, parents of autistic children are truly resilient, and they are fighters. You are going to haggle with doctors, read tons of information, take a lot of notes, and spend a fortune on food and learning supplies. There are going to be a lot of difficult obstacles put in front of you , but you will overcome them. Every day, you will look into your child's face and know that you're doing everything humanly possible for them. You're a parent! That's what we do best.

Autism Treatment Using Biomedical Therapies

Previously in other videos I have talked about therapies that are considered traditional treatments for Autism spectrum disorders like medications such as Risperdal and therapies like speech therapy, occupational therapy and behavioral therapy. Now I would like to cover something called biomedical therapies. Biomedical therapies are therapies that are utilized medically but are not what we would consider a recognized therapy in traditional medical communities. However, that does not reduce their effectiveness since these therapies can be very effective. They may not be well known or recognized throughout the medical world but biomedical therapies really break down into multiple categories.

The first category we will cover is supplements. We have seen that using various supplements like multi-vitamins, multi-minerals, B-12, folic acid, etc. can be helpful for some individuals. In fact, B-6 which is a specific vitamin, can be very helpful for quite a few individuals on the Autism spectrum because it has a bolstering effect on brain chemistry that can aid in eye contact, focusing, attention and even in some cases, behavioral problems.

There are also therapies out there that address the digestive problems that many children with Autism have. We know there is a link between digestive toxicity and brain function. So when we look at yeast and bacterial issues in the digestive tract and we use things like probiotics or prescriptions like Nystatin, Diflucan or even sometimes antibiotics to treat these issues, we see children improve cognitively.

We can also intervene biomedically through the use of dietary therapy. Once of the most common dietary therapy is the gluten and casein free diet. Gluten and casein can produce a chemical effect on the brain. We have seen issues with this in regards to individuals with depression, schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. And for people on the Autism spectrum we also see that these specific food proteins have a negative impact on brain chemistry and cause problems in attention, eye contact, socialization, language and behavior.

So although biomedical therapies tend to fall outside of the norm from the perspective of the traditional medical community, they can be incredibly powerful and useful. Biomedical therapies are medical interventions through the use of supplements, dietary therapies, digestive interventions, etc. They can help support traditional therapies like ABA, OT and speech therapy and in many cases can be even more powerful than those other interventions. So it is very important to remain open minded about other possibilities and to continue to learn and search out new ways to support individuals with Autism. There are so many treatment avenues and I have just touched on a few of them in this video.

Don't let ANYONE tell you there is nothing you can do to help your child. Autism really is treatable! Start your child down the road to recovery from autism. Biomedical Autism treatments and therapies have resulted in many, many children improving, or even even losing their autism-spectrum disorder diagnosis.
